An Almost Brush With Fame

I'm not one of those people who seems to be a magnet for famous encounters. Quite the opposite: I'm the jinxed girl who ALWAYS seems to run into an ex boyfriend, even in the most random places (like on top of a mountain at 8 in the morning). So imagine how bummed I was to find out that instead, I could have been running into Ed Sheeran at Crowder's Mountain.

But of course, nope--had to run into an ex instead, on the same exact mountain top hours earlier. What you gonna do.

Answer: Enjoy his concert later that evening.

I've been working on practicing gratitude for a while now, and have discovered that it's easy to find positive moments of light even in the darkest days. The previous weeks have been filled with emotions and uncertainty, and while being a lush for life can culminate in some amazing experiences and travels, it can also lead to some devastating heartache when you tend to throw yourself all in all the time. So, this weekend was spent nurturing myself with great music (YAS Ed Sheeran), late nights with friends, early solo hikes...

Great food (ice cream from Elizabeth Creamery)

Long walks (awesome sign spotted while wandering the neighborhood before Ed Sheeran concert)

and of course some quiet moments with good eats and a kick ass motivational book (currently loving "You Are a Badass" by Jen Sincero). I'm one of the poor, sad souls NOT off for Labor Day, so I'm going to be trucking along today, but still going to attempt to find a few moments of peace and gratitude throughout the day.
